Firestick and Sony KDL32WD75

I cannot find a way to link my firestick (new one with remote) to my Sony TV. I have it plugged into to the HDMI2 slot. When I switch on the TV absolutely nothing shows up. I have looked through Settings but can find no reference to the firestick at all.

I'm reasonably techie but this has me completely stumped. Any ideas anone. All suggestions welcome!

On our Sony Android TV. Remote select inputs and choose the HDMI input you have your Firestick connected to.

Thanks for feedback. Will try again (when feeling strong) but I could find no reference to HDMI at all. I'll let you know. thanks again
