Onscreen keyboard not working in Sony Bravia

My Bravia KX-whatever c2018 onscreen keyboard stopped working after a recent Sony software upgrade.

Many others are having the same problem.

Try going to settings / keyboard / manage keyboards, then turn 'Japanese Keyboard' on.

The other keyboards (Gboard etc) will then become available - previously they were greyed out.

Oh that's very strange. What's the actual model number of the TV? I want to know if it's an Android TV or not.

I have same problem whith my KD-55x7005 after OS upgrade. Onscreen keyboard won't show if I have my mouse connected. Issue is that system is mistakenly recognizing mouse as a physical keyboard. Even if mouse is removed and onscreen keyboard shows it can't be used with standard remote control. Previous OS didn't have this issue. It has to be fixed as user experience is significantly diminished.

Is there a patch or instruction that can be applied as fix to the problem?
