Hi Robi,

I got you a link that has a side by side comparison between both models: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/tv/t/televisions?view=compare

To see the picture difference between both models, I'd say visit your nearest retailer to check and compare as it's based on personal preference in my opinion.

The Android versions will not affect your watching experience, just the features. Here are the features added by Android 9: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00236337

Cheers,
The_Black_Rose

Hi folks,

I'm a new on this community, so, greetings to all

Till now I had have to use my old SONY 32U3000, it is a good tv, but now it would be good to buy something new.

As you probably know, 32U3000 has a back backlight

Now we have only two TV with fully array, XG9505 and XG9005. but I don't have lot of space for 55", the 49' is a max what I can to buy.

Now I have question, what is the generally diference betweem XG95 and XG90, I know about processors etc.

I wondering what is your opinion about the picture quality. On the internet I saw that on XF9005 was something like a halo on the subtitles, it is visible in XG90 ?

I know that XG90 will not receive upgrade for Pie, but it is a really important to have Android Pie to watching TV/Netflix ?

Regards,

Robert

Hi Sean,

Thx for the link is very helpful.
I can see the main difference is in the Object-based Super Resolution, but I think, that for 49" it is not so important ;), more important is the fullarray backlight - how it looks in real world

@Android Pie

I just wondering what kind of improvements has Androind Pie in relation to Oreo ?

I don't have special requirements, I need good tv which will work for the next 10 years

regards,

Robert

In any case what you call halo and is known as blooming is in the nature of fald LCD technology. Any such tv has it more or less depending on the dimming algorithm used.

If you do not like it you should go for an Oled (now they are coming also in 48" ) or an edge lit lcd (that in general will be far worse being that is not capable of local dimming at all)
