topic Sony KD55XG8505 in Android TV

Hi. Bought a Sony 55 inch tv - KD55XG8505 from John Lewis a couple of weeks ago. Watch tv through sky Q and the picture keeps getting very jerky. It only rights itself after I disconnect the tv and sky box for a few minutes. No pattern to when it happens and can be when watching normal HD or UHD. Sky Q setting is set for UHD picture but switching it to HD makes no difference - and if anything makes the picture worse. Don’t know what else to do - can’t believe that this tv could be incompatible with sky Q - it’s the 2019 model. But I’m close to returning the tv and starting again. Has anyone experienced the same issue and can anyone help please with a solution? Thanks!

Hi @OliverH2707

There should be no compatibility problems with your TV and Sky Q.

1. Are you using the Sky Q supplied HDMI lead (pink) and is it connected direct to the TV in an Enhanced HDMI port. Home -> Settings -> External inputs -> HDMI signal format -> Enhanced format (description tells which ports support high quality formats).

2. Are you running the latest firmware/software on Sky Q (Q110) and the TV (v6.3598).

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-xg85xx_x85xxg_u8g-series-55-65-75-85-/kd-55xg8505/downloads/00016479

Thanks and Yes to all of those. Just seems to be an intermittent problem. Originally thought it was when I switched from watching UHD back to HD but it has happened now just when watching HD. It’s like the screen freezes and then unfreezes but rapidly do you get a jerkiness in the picture that only disappears if you switch both off at the plug and leave for a few minutes. Any other ideas or should I be returning the tv?
