Hi Nickd510,

Are you sure that the source you're playing isn't putting out a lower quality signal for any reason?

If the available presets aren't looking good to you, you can always customize the settings as you like. The colour settings will always be subjective, so I'd recommend adjusting them until you're personally satisfied with what you see, once you've got the colours the way you like, play with the Motion Flow option which is what enhances the motion and gives sports mode its appeal.

I found this link on the Sony website which helps calibrate the picture settings as well: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/televisions-projectors/articles/00126919

Win_88

Hi guys,

I had a 2017 sony 49"8000 series and it had a live football mode in settings and football looked really good. I upgraded to the 55XG9505 and although everything is great, live football looks very blurred, grainy and almost like watching standard definition compared to the 49" sony I had. There is no live sport mode or sports setting in picture settings so can anyone point me in the right direction how to get the best out of the settings to watch live football as at the moment its very disappointing. Thanks
