Unfortunately, this is my first post on here.

My TV KD55X8509C has in the last week, turned itself off 4 times and flashed the red LED 6 times repeated every time.

Eventually turning back on when the button is pressed to power of and on.

It then seems to go into a full restart mode with android animation on the screen.

The last time it did it(tonight) the whole screen went off, but half the screen was black the other dark grey, then all black and flashing LED.

So far I have taken it off the wall and vacuumed the vents etc, they were ok to be honest because j keep on top of cleaning vents.

I have powered off at the wall and left for 15 minutes, then plugged in again.

Each time it starts ok, but later we have the same problem.

I still have cover under the extended Sony Guarantee, so not too concerned right now, but I wondered if there is something else I can try/test before going via the guarantee route.

Any suggestions/experiences or is it knackered and about to completely pack up soon.

I hope not as we have a 2 year old and life would end without our only tv in the house.

A flashing red light is never good. Unfortunately it looks like a major component is on the way out. If you want the bad news contact Sony UK Support . However it is likely to cost more than a new TV.

It shod be free because still within the extended 5 year guarantee😀

I will take your advise and contact support, see what they can do for me.

My main concern is our sanity when our 2 year old realises she cant watch pepper pig!!!
