Sony Bravia A8G turn on issue.

Hi, I have had my tv for less than a year. I haven’t got an Ariel in the room so stream tv using the WiFi. I have a Sonos beam and surround speakers connected. My problem is the length of time it takes for me to get a picture once I turn the tv on, sometimes I can wait up to 30 mins for the screen to come on. If I turn on Netflix I have sound almost immediately but no picture. Does anyone know why this is happening or if I can fix this. After spending around £1400 on my 4K tv it’s really annoying having to wait this length of time.

Hi, just checked and I don’ t have the latest firmware updated. I have version 6.6575 even though the auto update tells me everything is up to date. I only have an iPad and so cannot do the download via a flash drive 😩. Any idea how long the new update has been out or when I might get the auto download. Thanks for the help.

The steps only mention using a PC/laptop, but as long as you can get the file downloaded, extracted then copied to a flash drive, you should be okay.

Hi, I’ve updated my firmware to the latest version and my issue seems a little better. I still get sound almost straight away, but a picture takes way too long to come on to the screen. What should I see when I turn on? The Sony logo, the colour’d circles or straight on to my Home Screen? At some point I have seen all of these, also what should the front led light do? It seems to fade on and off, then get brighter oh and the tv clicks as though I I have switched it off.

Hi Fishinfan, try a factory reset, it settles the updates and works magic. Let us know if that worked.
