Missing Youview content

I have more than one Sony Android TV. The first one, a Bravia 4K UR3, has all the Freeview apps including ITV and Channel 4. However, the second one, a KD-65AF8, the ITV hub and Channel 4 apps are missing. At least they are shown in my apps on the home screen, but I cannot view or search them via Freeview, and they are not in my list of Freeview apps.

Also, when I manually go into ITV hub on the second TV, some content is missing that is in the ITV hub on the first TV.

Everything was fine a few months ago, but somewhere along the line, the Apps have stopped showing up and being searchable in Freeview and don't show all the content that is actually available.

Both TVs have Android kernal 4.9.125 and ITV hub v1. 62.2+3. Both have the latest update and have been restarted.

Can you please help?

@westto

That seems about right - the 65AF8 is a 2018 set on which itv Hub and All 4 only work on the YouView side, unless you employ the Hoshsadiq workaround, and the UR3 is a 2020 set on which YouView has morphed into ‘Live & Catchup TV’, and these two apps now work freely across the TV, which no longer has the sharp divide between Freeview and YouView of the 2018 sets.

I can’t answer for the missing content though. Can you give some examples? Is it possible that one itv Hub was validated by tuning in channel 3, and the other by supplying a postcode?

I have checked, and on the 2018 TV, content is missing in ITV Hub regardless of whether I register with my postcode or not. And is still missing even when using the same postcode and login as the working UR3 TV.

Regarding the other issue of only being able to access iplayer and My5 with the other players being missing. I partly bought this TV for its Youview functionality. Surely it isn't right that 3 years later that software is not working the way it was when I bought the TV?

Hello! Did you try clearing cache and data, and force stop the (YouView, YV service host) apps then enable YouView again?
