Does anyone know whether this TV can pass the lossy version of Dolby Atmos to a sound bar like the Sonos Arc?

Lossy is on DD+ (HDMI ARC), so yes...

Thanks. I couldn’t find anything definitive anywhere on Sony’s support pages or indeed anywhere else on the internet! Even the customer support team had to hand it off to the technical support group with a promise of a response in 3 days…

I believe that must've changed as you can get Dolby Atmos on Sony TVs these days.

As of today, Netflix support site https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23878 still declare that you have to have

Sony BRAVIA Android TVs (2018 or newer models)

And KD55A1 is a 2017 model.

That's from their end, but based on numerous calls to Sony by multiple people, it seems that they beg to differ, but here we are! Anyway thank you for the history lesson, cheers 😉.
