It's ironic that while Android is based on a linux kernel you only allow updates from Windows or Macs.

Come on Sony, sort it out!

Ok so its really close now to being able to see ICS on our phones, excited.

But for those of us not using Windows or Mac, how can we update?

Would it be possible to provide an update Rom to place on our SD cards, so enable us to update that way, as we can do with other phones?

Just wondering that is all.

But this is very strange problem. What can I do, when I have only Linux (Ubuntu 12.04, very useful system)? I have no money to pay for Windows license, when I do not use it! We want linux update software or over air solution... This is tragedy for me, that Linux is not supported. 😞

And I have another Question - will be next updates over air or we must to use poor Windows or Mac??

I am not happy, Sony Erricsson was good, but... I will try another producer, for which is Linux MUCH important. 😞

Otherwise - Xperia pro is very good, only small memory is strange. Thanks for your work, BUT...

Yes, I use Linux for many years, so I know Wine, but I think, this is not too stable to upgrade my Xperia (and maybe usb problem). But I want native solution, not a workaround. I have there one computer with Win Vista, so I will update over them maybe, but I do not use this computer, because Windows (many BSODs, very slow, unstable,...). Windows is not good OS for 21. century. I tried Win8, but this is ... um... very strange and poor system. Ubuntu is much much better, and Debian too. Mac is good, but very expensive solution. So I want hear - Sony will provide sw for the Linux. - no other possibilities.
