The rattle noise affecting the Z3 aswell?

The exact same rattle noise comes out of my XZ and my brand new Z3.

The only difference is that this time around I can hear it on my Z3 even when I open the camera app or switch back and forward between the camera modes, the intensity of the rattle being much lower than when tapping the phone.

Anyone else facing this issue aswell?

It's normal to hear a bit of noise coming from the camera module when you start the camera or switch modes. What you're hearing is the camera module adjusting its focus, it's mechanical so things move inside hence the noise.

Okay thanks for the info on the camera noise.

However, the rattle noise when tapping the phone seems getting worse. Yesterday I could hear it when tapping the back of the phone, while atm it rattles even when typing or double tap to wake the screen.

Even when tapping on the bottom speaker while holdimg the phone in my hands seems to make that rattle sound. I tried holding down all the side bottons (power, volume and camera), but it didn't seem to help. The only part of the phone I can tap without hearing the rattle is the bottom of the back panel.

Well it sounds like the camera module is a little bit loose.

Is the camera having any difficulty with auto-focusing?

Nope. The camera seems to focus just fine.

I have just tried to replicate that and can not. In this case it would be worth speaking with your local Xperia Care team to arrange an assessment of the device sorry.

I agree this, why not send to your local Xperia Care (Service Center) let them asses and find the solution on this. Thats what you mean right?

I got my Z3 with a 2 year contract from T mobile. Luckily I managed today to get in contact with them and swap the device with a new one, since their policy allows it as long as something's wrong with the device within the first weeks of use. They couldn't say exactly what was wrong with the phone, but they did however confirm it was making a funny noise when tapping on the device. I tested the new phone right up and doesn't make any sounds anymore when tapped.

Got one yesterday from a local store.

Noticed at home that when tappiung on the top right corner of the screen (Quick setting) makes this rattling squeky noise.

Went to the store - they did not have a replacement right away.

The manager of the store though tried to convince that it is the model feature and all phones are like that. Though the demo unit on display did not have that.

@Doffe - Have you spoken with your local Xperia Care team regarding this as I have tried to replicate this on a few units and do not get a rattle?

I bought mine a week ago, and it rattle from day one. Now it seems to rattle even louder. Everything works just fine, but the rattle noise is anoying. I hear it when i finger tap the back side near the camera, or when I shake the phone. Tried a several more units in the local store, and all of them are making the same noise when tap it easy on the back side.

A lot of people having the same problem with all different phones.

Does anyone know what exactly rattle in z3? Camera lens, pedometer or something else, and will it make some damage to the phone ?

Yes. It seems, somehow there is a super small drop of water on the inside of the camera lens and when i turn on any app which which involves the camera, it starts a very soft vibration and then condensation forms within the lense. Eventually the condesation dissapears but it just repeats when i next use the camera. Worried i will lose my warrenty if i give it to sony. It blurs the camera and gives it a 2.0 megapixel feel instead of 20.7! Absoloutly love this phone. Any ideas?
