Difficult to end a call

Hi, just having trouble with my Xperia Z3, when i'm in a call the screen blacks out as normal when you place the phone to your ear but when you want to end the call the screen wont light back up, and pushing the power button a few times to light up the screen does not work until you've mashed it about 10 times.

Is there anything blocking the proximity sensor? (film, protective case, grime)

Don't think so, had the front screen recently replaced, and a clear 'screen cover' placed over the top
