topic Xperia z1 screen won't turn on BUT touchscreen is still active in XPERIA archive

Had phone for at least a 18 months with no problems, some minor cosmetic damage but nothing resent. Now the screen doesn't work however the touch still works, I know this as I can still answer the phone by guessing the location of the slider , the microphone and speakers still work, as well as the aux and the USB. Is this a problem that my local phone shop can fix or does it need to be sent off for repairs?

Could be the graphics chip or an LCD panel failure or a simple faulty connection - If it's the two latter then a repair store should be able to fix it and if it's the graphics chip then you will need a repair centre

Hi BFG

Welcome to the community,

You should contact Sony Mobile within your region as well, as you may still be under warranty, using a third party repair agent would void a warranty if you still have one.

Use my signature to find contact details.
