Unfortunately x has stopped working

I've got a brand new sony z5 compact.

It's switched itself off twice in 3 days (Once over night meaning the alarm didnt go off)

the biggest issue I have now is I can't open Chrome or Instagram without the apps crashing with stopped working. this is frustrating as they were working yesterday and I havent installed anything that could have broken it.

Before I restart the device to fix the problem I'd like to know what as caused it or if further debugging is needed.

Some insight would be really appreicated. Otherwise I'm close to sending this phone back as faulty and getting a refund.

Are this apps on the internal storage or an SD card? do you have an antivirus or taskiller app?

What if you clear the app data of the apps that are acting up?

1. Tap the Application screen icon.
2. Find and tap Settings > Apps.
3. Swipe to the All tab.
4. Find and tap on the app.
5. Tap Force stop > Clear data.
6. Repeat for all apps that are acting up.
7. Restart the phone
