Possible virus

Hello I'm new to this so please bare with me!! I recently bought an Xperia z2 off ebay as the previous owner (had the phone a couple of days,receipt shown as proof) preferred windows phones. Anyway I keep getting this pop up telling me to upgrade my protection and O click install which I haven't done (obviously a virus) I have since upgraded the avg protection to pro but don't know how to stop this thing popping up! Pop ups are disabled and this thing comes up whenever I go on yahoo mail,Facebook or generally when it feels like it! I'd appreciate some help please, thank you!

I think what you are experiencing is adware. Can you boot in safe mode and report if the same occurs?

Hi....first off is there not an easier way to get here? I mean not through the main sony site? I did what you asked once I googled how to do what you asked and it does not do it in safe mode. Thank you for being patient

So in safe mode it does not have that behaviour? It is easy to boot in safe mode, just press power button and tap longer on turn off. You can restart in safe mode.

It does not do it in safe mode, although I only had it in safe mode for five minutes but I did go into all the apps it usually pops up in. Can I upload a screen shot of what appears on my phone? The "pop up" doesn't appear all the time, I'd say twice a day max

I know it's not legit from the poor grammar I just don't know how to get rid or if it's going to trash my phone

@Fieldy You could download malware bytes or avast and scan your device. Still I don't think it will wind any virus.

I downloaded malwarebites and it didn't pick anything up 😒

Might be something from a browser or an app. Really not sure, but if you say safe mode helped, I would try to uninstall apps.

Sorry I managed to somehow lock myself out what a fringing palava!! Anyway it's still happening so I guess my next option is a reset....thank you all for your time and help

I forgot to say earlier sony have emailed and told me to connect to my pc and try a repair....oops
