Only vibrates once on incoming calls - normal behavior??

Hi,

I purchased this phone yesterday. Whatever I try I cannot get the phone to vibrate more than once when I receive a call. So the screen will light up to show the call being received, vibrate just the once, and then from then on it just shows the incoming call on screen without any more vibrates.

This is the same whether the phone is on silent or with a ringtone at varying volumes. I've checked everything I can think of in regards to the notifications.

Phone App > Settings > Sounds and vibration > Also vibrate for calls = ON (ticked)

Main Settings > Apps & Notifications > App info > Phone > Notifications > Miscellaneous > Always Vibrate = ON (ticked)

Main Settings > Apps & Notifications > App info > Phone > Notifications > Incoming calls > Always Vibrate = ON (ticked)

Is this being experienced by anyone else? There must be a way to change this as I've never had a phone only vibrate once before - it's causing me to miss calls as I'm not noticing it ringing when on silent. Also, if it's in my pocket on silent it means I have to remove it every single time there is a vibrate event as it could be a call (say rather than a message notification).

If anyone could advise if this is normal behaviour for this phone that would be great.

My one only vibrates once as well. I don't know if it is meant to be like that or it's a problem with the Phone App or with Oreo or with Sony.

There are also problems with the Messaging App which does not give the option of getting delivery reports in some markets including the UK.

There is a new software update, 47.1.A.5.51 November security patch, but has made no difference.

Big thanks for the confirmation Tizer.

I just spoke to Xperia Support via Webchat and the agent advised this is not expected behaviour (eg. it SHOULD vibrate ongoing when a call is being received before answering). He has advised to do a software repair using the Companion suite but I'm hesitant to do that (and erase everything I've set up / installed) if it's not going to help.

If anyone else reads this and can also confirm what their phone does when receiving a call that would be great... If it's everyone then I think it's something Sony will need to fix as it's not inline with what they are saying.

I find it unbelievable that Xperia Support do not have a selection of phones that they could try out to see if the problem is replicated on their clean phones. Instead they want their customers to do what should be their responsability and waste half a day of their lives setting up their phones again. No one should need to do that with a phone that was like that when it came out of the box.

Awesome thanks for the confirmation. In that case I'll try a software repair. I'll come back with the result.

EDIT: The software repair fixed it. I've reinstalled all my previous apps, restarted and so far so good.
