No Google Assistant, Just Screen Search?

I've come from a Nokia 6 which had Google Assistant, but since having an Xperia X, I can't get this on my mobile.

When you hold down the home button, I just get the screen search. I'm in the UK and presumed Google Assistant was working for all Android devices now? I'm on 7.1.1

Any ideas? Thanks.

Change the Language to US English.

Hi @JAY81UK, welcome to the forum!

According to the information I can find, Google Assistant is available in English (US, U.K., CA, IN, AU) and the phone language should be set to English (US).
