Z5 premium problems overheating

I was one of sony Xperia series phones fans until using Xperia Z5 premium
really it seems like I have got a heater not a phone with a bad battery, it isn't survive complete 3 hrs.

I'm facing not responding massage too much and sometimes the phone chooses to be silent with itself!!!!!!

I wish you have a plan to fix these problems,Sony

The phone will heat up faster if you are recording on 4K, watching 4K videos, streaming, playing games, that's normal, again your device has a 4K display.

Thank you for your helping me by this valued info., but unfortunately it always heats up even when I have a phone call conversation (nothing working except a a normal call)

because of that I'm always using a headphone ...

Most likely you have other apps running in the background that are causing this problem, what to do?

Charge the phone 100% > let it cool off for 30min or so (turn it off) > turn it back on > boot in >>> safe mode for 3 hours > check if you experience the same issue.

safe mode will disable all third party apps until you restart the device.

Has anyone having problems with their z5 over heating mines has causing the phone to swell and after sending it to Sony only to be told that it's not covered under warranty as the phone has bent but give us £300 and we'll sort it seriously if I bent the phone surley the screen would crack I have the phone protected with glass covers front and back and not even they cracked and inside a gel case and you can clearly see the phone has swollen and not bent just another excuse for Sony not to except responsibility

U gotta blame Nougat optimization to Xperia by Sony for that...both lp and MM hasn't produced this much heat..it's odd that ur device got swells rather to bend or break. Every Xperia device Wil be sent to garage by Sony after 1 yr of its heavenly life.This policy has been continuing from Xperia Z so far!!! That's Sony for u...the only goodie to hear from Sony is... It's developer friendly..

i less care my phone after 5mines of playing almost 120F\50C hot in the hand

but i do care after 40C\105F the big cores go to sleep ending up in 60% less performence (acodring to stress test i did with bench app) also i cant recored any video or shots photos making the phone useless when hot

Same problem here! Have a z5 premium and never had that problem when I bought this phone... it started after upgrading to Nougat! I can't even see a 3min youtube video because it gets too hot! So this is the premium phone...?

Extremely disappointed with Sony, overheat, short battery life, random apps keep running at the background in my Z5 Premium. Factory reset my phone last week, still the same. I don't think Sony is going to fix this, I have seen enough of people complaining about the issue but yet no improvement at all. Not going to buy Sony products anymore. Switched to Huawei MLA-AL10 recently, much better than my Z5 Premium with half of the price in every way, except the IP68 rating. I'm here just to make some noise to ease my frustrations.

Yep, same issue. Battery life way too short, overheating even with simple apps like Web browser or YouTube.

Even 4k video option isn't available for YouTube on andros latest system update.

Tried manufacturer reset and still not fixed. Im still way within my 24 month warranty and will return this phone for a fix.. If it's not fixed I want the newest phone out replacement. Not fair play from Sony.

Can't make videos over 10 minutes long. It crashes because of overheating problem. I'm not using the 4k application of the phone. Why is that!?Solution please.

tried experia companion repair option but overheating problem not solved. absoluitly an irationional reply never used 4k video recording and still its heating like a heater. simply a shamefull technology with such high price. sony should ashamed of it.simply a fraud for its custoers.

You will love Sony phones after doing this.. Battery doesn't stay longer at all because bck ground process is very high and really unwanted and useless. That's right. It takes almost 3.5 hours to charge and doesn't even stay for 3.5 hours whether you use phone or not. Have to charge minimum twice a day and atlast 7 hours a day go waste. But some how I found solution for it. Just install 2 apps to solve battery problem. 1st is no root firewall and ignore all unwanted apps and system apps to run in the back ground. 2nd app is install battery doctor and optimise the phone. This will help your battery last a day!!! Happy atleast now. Its my own discovery 🤣. Now love your phone for longer battery time.
