As far as I know,TA partition incorporates the DRM keys,Bravia Engine (X-Reality on newer ones) and warranty.

it surprises me that instead of checking with someone from sony you checked xda-dev

not sure if i should trust fareeed, but this isn't a paper so i don't really need references etc, nor is it something important
