Hi everyone,
I've bought my Xperia Z2 few days ago and have strange issue - my camera button doesn't work in every mode. I can open camera app by holding button but can't take any picture in auto mode. Button works in 4K video, Timeshift video, AR effects, Timeshift burst mode. I didn't check Vine, info-eye and social live modes only. I can take pictures by touching the screen button in every mode. Do you have any ideas how to resolve this problem?

As it works in other modes than SuperAuto I would suggest to clear cache and Data of the camera App in settings, aplications, ALL.
Other thing you need to test it in manual mode, timeshift burst and videos do not actually use the half-button focus, but react for full press.
Try to clear data nad cache in settings and then restart phone, will see if that will help

Cleared data gives no result

It is a two step button, first is very light and it works as a camera focus button, but you should feel it clicks in a half way, than you press harder and it takes photo just like a real compact cameras do. If you don't feel any pressing degree it might be faulty, it's just a silicone stripe with plastic buttons so it could be badly installed in factory.
Last time, just to be sure, try to start the phone in service mode (restart and when sony logo appears press volume down till it fully starts and you see grey text on main screen "safe mode" if then it will work - reinstall android with sony companion, and if system repair won't do any changes consult the phone in sony centre or the shop where it was bought.

OK, so I've tried to use camera button in Safe Mode - no result.

When I press camera button slightly I feel it clicks, but after that, when I press harder then it doesn't clicks - should it be like that?

@kanchuka, what does it mean "4n via PCC" ?

Yes, firstly, when you press on that cam button, a focus frame adjusts itself on the self (which is in the color of white) when it has focused it becomes blue..then press down harder, you will feel it being pressed 2nd time as well.. and voila!

A picture is captured..

P.S the colors of the frame don't matter much but they can be used to indicate that now is the time to press down harder.

Surely tell if this helps.. hopefully it will.. worked for me, i have Experia C ..
