i got my u.s warranty xperia z purple yesturday and i would like to know why i'm still stuck with firmware 434 and why i can't get the latest 253.

i try on the phone and no update, i try on the computer with pc companion and nothin, i try to repair the phone and it still says i have the latest firmware. what do i need to do to get the latest firmware 253 ?

there are other threads on the same topic, since you are new user I'll explain briefly how the forum works

use the search bar on the top right before creating a new thread, chances are that there is a thread on the same topic.

now back to the topic, each update has to be approved and then released in each country/region, if your phone is or was locked to a carrier/network branded, you have to wait for them, carrier/network, to approve and release the update.

in other words you have 2 options

1) wait

2) manually update your phone

do you happen to know if the firmware 253 still not in the u.s - new york ?

it doesn't seem to be available, but you can manually update your phone

I'm using the C6602 as well and never got the .253 update (California, USA here) but the other day I did get the .307 update. Received it when I connected to the PC Companion.

indeed, there seems to be some issues with OTA notifications, its wise to check with either PC Companion or Sony Update Service
