PC Companion Doesnt shows software info

Recently after updating the xperia z3+ to latest firmware via PC companion, it stops showing me the software info for the xperia z3+.

Under support zone> Phone/Tablets software update it shows Server not accessble

On connecting my old phone xperia sl lt26ii it shows that i have the latest software update.

why its not showing this info for Xperia z3+

It could be server related as the update for Z3+ is rolling.

Hi Community,

I am facing "PC Companion need to connect to an online server" issue, but with one phone only.

When I connect my Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633), PC Companion detects the phone, checks for updates, and reports that "Your phone / tablet is up to date".

When I connect my Xperia Z3+ Dual (E6533), PC Companion detects the phone, but can't check for updates. When I click on Phone/Table Software Update of Support Zone, "PC Companion need to connect to an online server" appears.

So this is not a PC, USB cable, Windows or Firewall issue.

Any ideas?

Could be something simple like the server hosting the details for the 2nd device you mentioned is been updated or undergoing some changes

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt answer. I doubt it because I am facing this issue for more than 2 weeks now, right after the latest update for Z3+ Dual (28.0.A.8.251). Obviously I thought this update has caused the issue so I did the factory reset, to no avail.

Hi, I am facing the same problem, after last update I can not get in touch with the server and it doesn´t show any info under "Xperia Z3+". My wifes Z2 works perfect to connect to pc companion.

Hi,

Most likely a server problem, only if Sony has a dedicated server for Z3+ updates.

Anyone fixed this now? I asked Sony´s support and as usual no help there. The support answered the standard questions about my computers firewall and firewall Yet I told them that my wifes Z2 is working perfectly with pc companion. Anyone who solved this problem?

Since updating my Z3+ to Android 5.0.2 PC Companion does not seem to be able to connect to server (to check for new updates). I have tryed daily for a couple of weeks but to no avail. I know there is a thread here in the Z3+ forum about "PC Companion not showing software version" that ulitimately boils down to "sony servers not beilng online" as far as i can read. Please correct me if i'm wrong. I'm not completely sure that i understand....

I would just like if somebody could provide some clarification:

Is this a problem on my end? (i.e. problem with my phone and/or PC Companion)

Is it a problem on Sony Server end? (i.e. servers are not online, which seems odd as they haven't been online for a few weeks now)

Hello, I have contacted Sony Sweden and after much doubt from the support guy (he tried the usual support s..t talk, firewall have you tried another computer....) they realized that I was correct. I sent them copies of how pc companion acts when I connect my Z3+ So now hopefully they are aware that it is some issue with pc companion and the Z3+ after latest update to 251. We have to wait and see...

I have the same problem since after the last update! I hope Sony will sort this out. I lost faith in Sony. So I am only hoping. Sony = bad after service

I have the same problem with my z3+ in pc companion, doesn´t show me the info and can´t connect to the server and with the tablet z and z2 works perfect

The pc companion update today, but no can connect with serves is so frustrated, what happens whit sony, I try in differents pcs but is the same is like this phone doesn't exist for Sony. I hope don't erase my opinion. I hope someday sony fix the problems fast like eraser my opinions...
