Z2 won't start

Hello,

First of all, I'm new. I did try to search for another topic like this one, but can't find it. Hope I didn't start a new one while there already was one.

I have a problem with my Z2. Since yesterday, it won't start anymore. When I push the power butten, I do get to see the words SONY and Android, then you hear the sound and see the purple decoration type of thingy, and then when the sound is finished, the screen freezes. The screen goes black, and it all starts again.

I do have to say that the problems already started when it was turned on. That's why I wanted to restart the phone. When I pressed the button where you can see all the apps you've used, the phone just went to home screen and then suddenly it was locked.

When I try to get into recovery mode it doesn't work.

My English isn't the best since my native language is Dutch.

Can anyone help me with solving this problem? Or do I have to get a new phone?

Around Christmas, I will have had the phone for 2 years.

Remove the SIM and SD cards and try again, if that doesn't work, repair the phone with XC

Would you mind sharing which step it was that helped from @uliwooly reply? I'm thinking it would be great to set a solution so that other customers which experience something similar can find this thread and get help too!
