Wh-1000x Terrible mic quality

I've had lots of complaints from colleagues saying my voice sounds distant and muffled when using my WH-1000X3 headphones for calls using Zoom and Google Hangout. I've seen that this is a common issue. What can I do? My headphones are over a year old now and I'm unsure if Sony will help. I can't find any details for helplines or online chat so I can actually talk to someone either. It's a shame because I'm doing more and more calls for work and so I'm having to use other headphones, but I love the way the Sony's sound. 😞

Is noise cancelling enabled when you do calls?

If so, please try without NC.
