topic NWZ-A15 Walkman Bluetooth weak / poor quality in Portable Audio

I purchased my Sony NWZ-A15 Walkman for use about my home, for jogging / sporting activities, and for my car - based around the Bluetooth / NFC functions.

*For my home I purchased a Sony Soundbase HT-XT3 to provide a wireless solid sound system to connect to.

And for outdoor activities I purchased Mpow Cheetah Bluetooth headphones.

Once I got all my music together and uploaded to my Sony Walkman I was delighted and re-energised to have all my music available again (ie. replacing an older model Apple iPod due to a failing battery).

Unfortunately the dream hasn't materialised and my sony Walkman is sitting on a shelf.

The Bluetooth capacity / signal strength is terrible.

I can connect and pair with all the devices that I've tried to date, but the connection quality between the devices is poor, even between my Sony Walkman and Sony Soundbase - which is disrupted at a range of 2 meters, ie. from my kitchen island and a media unit.

*I can leave the Walkman on top of the Soundbase, but then I lose the portability / mobility function and to select a track I have to walk over to the Soundbase.

But even worse is the connection between the Walkman and my Bluetooth headphones. When jogging or working around the house / garden, with the Walkman in my pocket, the signal breaks up / quality drops when I move. I purchased an arm strap / iPod carrier so that I could move the device as close as possible to the headphones, but the sound is still broken as my arms move when running, etc.

*Note: I've used the same headphones paired to my Moto G phone and there is no break to the quality of the sound when moving or from a range of 4 to 5 meters, so I am ruling out an issue with the headphones themselves.

I reverted to cable headphones for a while - which work perfectly, but are not suitable for jogging, etc

Is there a problem with my specific Sony Walkman ? ... or is there a general issue with the Bluetooth signing strength on the NWZ-A15 ?

Yours regrettably

Brian
