Sony WH-1000XM3 - battery always full?

Hello

I am a proud owner of the 1000xm3, and I do love most things about them -

One strange thing is that whenever I press the button to check the battery (or connect a device to them), battery always shows as full 100% (and the lady voice says the same). Then, after hours of play, it suddenly drops to 30, 20, or 10 straight away and so on. There is no consistency of going from 100, to 90, to 80 - and so on.

I have tried resetting them and they are on the latest firmware.

Any idea why this is or how I can fix it?
