VGN-A197 Default Resolution

I have two of these notebooks and find the standard resolution of 1920x1200 to high for the 17" X Black screen. I currently therefore run the systems constantly on the zoomed setting of 1280x768, however I do not like the fact that this reduces the clarity of the screen.

Does anyone know of an upgrade which allows you to run earlier VGN-A notebooks (such as mine) at the new resolution which VGN-A's now seem to be shipping at (1440x900). I presume that Sony have made this change in standard resolution as other owners were finding the 1920x1200 standard resolution to high, and I would like to reconfigure my systems to run at this new resolution as standard.

LOL, I would love to have a resolution like this.

But you can firx that problem really fast and easy.
Set the resolution to the standard. Then make a rightclick on the desktop and click "properties".

Click configuration and extended. There you can configure the DPI size.

(BTW: my windows is in german. Could be that there a difference)

Extended = advanced - thats the only difference.
