Just got my long awaited new fancy VAIO LA3 desktop and think it had just finished setting up when my daughter fell over. After 15 mins, i went back to find the screen blank and it's been like that ever since. The book says to remove the battery pack but i can't even find it! Anyone got any tips? Anything? Can't call support as it's too late and I really wanted to get this sorted before my other half gets home as a suprise for her. Any help much appreciated. Oh and Happy New Year!

Hi fit-noo1 and welcome.

Is it just the screensaver? Have you tried hitting any key on the keyboard?

Are there any lights on? Can you hear any sounds from the LA3?

Try holding the 'Power On' button down for 10 seconds - disconnect from the mains - hold the Power button down for further 30 seconds - leave for 10 minutes - reconnect mains power - press Power Button.

Does it now start up? Anything shown on the screen?

Thanks for the reply.
Tried doing what you said but still blank.
Started the set up process and got to typing in user name and password, didnt insert any, then the daughter thing happened and then it went blank!!!!!!!
The whole thing just shut down, could not even get a response when pressing the power button.
Had to disconect power, switch it back on and then only the green power light came on and nothing else......
Any other suggestions???

I think you are going to have to telephone Vaio Support here: -

You will probably need to register your Vaio first.

Does the Green light turn off if you hold down the Power Button for 5 seconds?

All I can suggest is to pull the plug from the wall and leave it for an hour!! Not very helpful I know.
