hi

i have sony vaio laptop (VGN-FE21S) i have installed vista and now motion eye is not working can anybody plz help?

Hi umar_khan and welcome to Club Vaio.

The camera works differently with Vista - it will not appear in 'My Computer'.

Is the camera installed properly - look in Device Manager -> Imaging Devices. Is your camera shown?

Have you installed the VAIO Camera Utility for Vista? Type this into the 'Search Box' for All Programs.

Have you tried to configure the camera with Skype or MSN?

YES it is showing in device manger (sony visual communication camera VGP-VCC1)and device is working properly. I have not installed VAIO camera utility for vista i typed it in search box nothing came up.

You will need to install the VAIO Camera Utility.

I would download the Original Utilities Package for the VGN-FE41Z which was sold with Vista installed.

1. Right-click on the download FE4_Utilities.ZIP and choose "Extract All". Choose to extract the files to C:\ and this will put the extracted files into a new folder C:\Utils.

2. Navigate to C:\Utils\Utils Installer VAIO Camera Utility\Setup.EXE and double-click on it to install.

It is the VAIO Camera Utility you want NOT THE VAIO CAMERA CAPTURE UTILITY. You may wish to install the "CAPTURE" Utility also but then update it to VAIO Camera Capture Utility 2.2.03.11150 from the FE41Z downloads page.
