Hi grefothe,

It does sound as though the graphics chip or soldering thereof is faulty. Unfortunately the VGN-NR32S is not acknowledged by Sony as being affected by the NVIDIA graphics chip problem. Here is a list of models that will be repaired free of charge within four years of purchase:

VGN-FZ11x, VGN-FZ18x, VGN-FZ21x, VGN-FZ31x, VGN-FZ38x,

VGN-AR11x, VGN-AR21x, VGN-AR31x,

VGN-C1Zx, VGN-C2Zx,

VGC-LM1xx, VGC-LM2xx,

VGC-LT1xx, VGC-LT2xx.

I suggest you speak to one of Sony’s repair partners to find the way forward. Possibly a reflow of the chip may resolve the problem.

http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/repair/asc

Rich
