Hi, I have a two year old Vaio (CS) laptop that won't open and am struggling as I am very untechnical.

It goes straight from the Vaio screen to the system repair screen but just remains there. I have tried it several times but it won't move on or repair itself. The box does not contain any repair discs and I don't think I'll be able to afford a Sony repair.

Any help or suggestions would very gratefully received, thanks, Maria x

Oh, please could any replies be written as if for a very young child as I am practically computer illiterate. Ta x

God knows how but I've fixed it!!!

Pressed F10 and it found a fault with the hard drive (whatever tht is) and self fixed itself..

It's now opening but is VERY slow..

I get the feeling that its giving me a short window to download any of the bits I needed before it turns up its toes.

Do you think it would help to return it to factory settings as I only really use it or t'internet, and a few minor docs.

Will that help do you think?
