Memory upgrade VGN-FE41S

Can anybody tell me if it is possible to upgrade the internal memory of a VGN-FE41S.

Installed are 2x DDR2
Each Size    1024 MBytes
Manufacturer    Hyundai Electronics
Max Bandwidth    PC2-5300 (333 MHz)

I intend to replace the 2x1048MBytes by 2x2096MBytes banks

I cannot find any Sony remarks that this is possible. I want to avoid to buy new banks for nothing.

Sony's specifications say that the maximum memory for the FE41S is 1024MB per slot = 2048 MB Maximum.

Independent memory manufacturers like Crucial.com also agree that the Maximum memory is 2GB (2 X 1GB)

Some users have tried more memory but it is not clear if the FE41S can use the extra memory and you may be asking for trouble by exceeding the manufacturers maximum. In any event the 32-bit operating system cannot use more than 3GB.
