Hi Damir

MS screwed up here, if you're fining that the remote works when you first start the machine up, but stops responding (but you can see the light on the laptop recieving the signal) after hibernating or standby, you're the lucky recipient of a free vista bug!

You can usually tell, because an 'unknown USB device' is listed in your hardware, which is the IR reciever celebrating it's unreliable drivers.

There's a hotfix floating around, but it's only half-solved the problem, in my experience.

It's incredible, there's so may patchy problems in Vista (and particularly with the ARs), my machine will be out of warranty before I can actually find out if it's all working properly. So any proper defects in the machine I can't do anything about due to a brain-dead meeting of hardware and software. It's not like vista was Microsoft's most super-sekrit product.

SP1. That's your answer.

Yes you are quite correct...Vista has bugs. Go into the device manager and disable and enable the remote device driver for the 'ehome infrared transceiver' under the tree for 'Human interface devices'. Worked for me after hours of experimentation
