Hi everyone,

I have a vaio VGN-N11S/W and I'm having problems with the installation of my HP printer. First I thought it was the problem of the printer driver, but now I'm starting to think it's because of my USB driver. When i use a plug and play usb device these days it doesn't actually 'plug and play' because windows is constantly asking for driver install (sensed a new hardware). It did the same thing when i tried to install my printer using USB. It acknowledges the new hardware, but won't finish the driver installation (at the end it says there's a problem with an INF file). The printer driver software itself stops halfway through the installation because it can't detect the printer (while it's connected). Adding a new printer manually was my last resort and it led to nothing because there is no (virtual) USB001 port in the ports-list. Adding an USB port myself didn't work either. The damned thing just won't print.

HP Helpdesk suggested changing language (right..) and reinstalling windows on my C: drive, because I played around with windows services (which I set back to default again). Before really reinstalling or repairing stuff I'd rather like to have some advice from other people.

Sony driver pack only has USBmouse driver, no other usb related drivers or updates. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance
