H,

I have a newly purchased FZ18M Vaio. I am now starting to get used to the system. One of the reasons I bought this laptop was due to the Nvidia GeForce 8400M GT, I was under the impression that this would result on good graphics performance. The problem is however that my index rating for "desktop performance for windows aero" is 3.5...is this sort of card not very good??

You'll find that turning off Aero is probably better for your performance.

i did turn it off but it looks horrid without it, all the windows aren't see-through etc.

Is the graphics card not up to much?

how do you turn off Aero, I have relooked and don't think what I turned off was what you were talking about?

is that with Aero on? What sort of graphic card you got?

on second looks, I notice that my gaming graphics score is 4.7, however my graphics score is 3.5, whats the difference and what could be the root of having such a low score when ever other score is so high???
