KDL47W805A randomly turning off and on.

As in description, the tv will randomly go blank and return to the SONY screen then continue as normal. This is a brand new TV. Completely random and cant see any obvious reason for it. It is connected via HDMI, cables seem fine etc. Any ideas, or is this a repair job?

Hi there

Can you ensure that you have the latest firmware installed, and then perform a factory reset of the TV. This can cure many issues.

Latest firmware is installed and factory reset has been carried out. The problem is still there.

Considering the TV is brand new, I would talk to the retailer you purchased it from for an exchange - as it shouldnt constantly do that. Every now an then the TV will "crash" like a computer, but this should be few and far between.

The other thing to try, is to disconnect any connected equipment to the TV, and just run it through the aerial (freeview), it could be a connected device thats conflicting? Just a side thought really.
