I have a new Bravia tv, and an elderly Samsung DVD player. There is no SCART on the tv, of course. But I tried to connect the DVD to the TV with RCA cables - red, white, yellow. Connections are OK. BUT - picture is ok, but only very faint sound from any DVD!!! What's the problem? Is there a solution. I am already using both HDMI ports, one for Sky, one for a Chromecast(very useful).

hey, I would make sure that the TV is up to date or try a different cable, what do you have BTW?

Thank you, Hannah. My tv is 43WF663, the dvd player a Samsung 'progressive scan' model. Both devices have the RCA cable attachments. But I get video and very faint sound when I try to connect.
