I don't know if this is an Android issue or Xperia 1 specific, but has anyone else noticed that when you get a text message and the messages app shows a notification dot, the dot doesn't disappear after you've read the text?
The only way I've found to get rid of it is to reboot, which is a bit of a pain in the ****. Has anyone else noticed this?
This is an Android thing, not a Sony or Xperia thing.
It happens across ALL Android devices.
I'm sure on my old Samsungs it was called Badge Provider, or some thing of that nature.
Go into the app concerned, and go to its notifications.
You can turn off the bubble or turn it on, so deleting the app cache and disabling the bubble can work.
You can long press on the app icon on your home screen, theres a prompt..
And finally, in Apps & Notifications, you can change the LED notification light to another colour, for example, Whatsapp, gives you an absolute ton of options for the notifications, and in Advanced, lets you change the LED colour and its status.
Well, this Message app badge problem is getting annoying. Last update from yesterday still didn't fix this.Of all Sony phones only on XPERIA 5 and XPERIA 1 this problem is present. I wrote Google months ago and now on this forum. When is this going to be fixed?
Just had this happen as well. It's unacceptable.
Hi all,
Dir me it is the same problem.
First I only got this problem on "phone" app.
And today it happens on "messages" app too.
Reboot or deleting cache and so on hasn't worked for me on phone app.
Hope it will be fixed soon.
Greetings
Umbra

Well, complain to Google, it's their issue, and has been for a while now.
Yeah I've got the same problem on my Xperia 5. Phone app notification dot just won't go away no matter what I try
This is why Xperia messaging and overall sony apps were far better. Unfortunately sony decided to replace it with Google crap...
If you click on the notification and read it will not disappear, but if you click directly on the message application, then it will disappear ... 😉
