Xperia 1 hotspot unstable

My hotspot is just ridiculous!! It constantly disconnects from whatever I'm using it in and when it is connected the quality is shocking. I've tried all the settings fixes suggested on older models bug nothing helps. none know what to do please before I throw my phone out the window and go back to Samsung??

I've used my phone as a hotspot on many occasions with good connection speed and no disconnections. Can you give us more info about your situation - e.g. Country, network, device you are trying to connect, etc?

Yeah exactly, there are a lot more factors at play other than, oh no, its rubbish, send the phone back.

And FYI, I used mine yesterday, and 3 people managed to use it just fine for a whole morning in the office yesterday, on my phone, latest update, with no disconnections or issues.

I'm in the UK on Vodafone and it's my firestick I'm trying to connect to, to stream video. My s9 did it brilliantly using the same SIM card. My gf has an S10 on voda that does it fine too. I've only had this problem since 'upgrading' to the Experia 1. It's the only thing that's changed so can only be the device

Also have big problems with hotspot on my Xperia 1.

The problem occurs when commuting on a bus to and from work. I need to constantly disconnect and reconnect to my phones wifi from my computer. This never happens when hotspoting at home or at the office. I never had any problems with my old Google Nexus 5X. Took the same busride with error-free wifi for 4 straight years without any problems.

So my guess would be that Sony Xperia 1 has problems with hotspot+connection to different phone pylons during the trip. Something happens when it changes its own network, and my computer needs to disconnect and reconnect for it to start working again. Usually works for around 5 minutes, then disconnects again.

Any other thoughs what the problem might be? (Hotspot power saving is disabled)
