I bought my Xperia 1 this Jun and started to use it.
I have an NFC-sim card (Hong Kong Octopus Card) for transports and electronic payments, which have been well functioned for a few years in my Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ Premium.
I also worked from Jun to late Jul. And it didn't work then.
I tried to ask my network provider to change a new NFC-sim card. It worked again.
But 1 week later, it failed again. I put the card back to my Xperia XZ Premium, it still doesn't work.
I have contacted the technical person, no one advise the solution.
Could you please advise me to check whether the SIM is failed due to the phone hardware, or there are some hardware issues for my phone?
Have you tried to check your network settings?
Make sure you have the right settings.
Also check if your NFC function is enabled.
Settings>Device connection
If the NFC-enabled SIM does not work in the XZ Premium either, the SIM is most likely at fault.
-Perhaps it as been locked or diasbled in some way if too many failed attempts, etc?
Yes I have checked. NFC function is enabled as well as the network is in the right setting.
I used #*#*#*Service Test *#*#*# to check the phone NFC,
My Xperia 1 always shows UICC: OK while My Xperia XZ Premium is different.
When I restart My Xperia XZ Premium, it shows UICC: OK, but if i try to use NFC to touch the payment machine, it doesn't work and then it will turn to UICC: Failure. I need to reset the phone so that it will resume back to UICC: OK....
How can I know if the SIM has been locked due to too many failed attempts?
It doesn't work when it is on safe mode as there is no NFC enable is avaiable in the safe mode
Try turning off Android Beam in NFC settings, reboot the phone, and see if it works then.
Is your phone a dual-sim version or single-sim?
If dual-sim, try to insert the SIM in Position 2 and check if it works ok as payment.
(you will not be able to use a SD-card as Sim Position 2 is overlapping)
