I am trying to update my Sony Zeiss 24-70 f4 OSS lens.
I downloaded the relevant software and opened it on my Mac and follwed the instructions - set USB setting to Mass storage, connected camera to computer with USB cable and opened instructions downloaded with update.
Turned on camera with lens attached and back of camera showed Sony connection, hit OK and then next on computer screen Sony page - took ages then it came back and said it could not download the update so had to remove camera battery, reinsert turn camera back on and try again - same thing so I have now given up!!!
Why can't they update via SD card like most other cameras??
Any suggestions / tips will be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ian

Thank you Michael,
I have even updated the Sony downloader to cover OS 10.13 but still no luck.
As it is, this may be a mute point as even though the Zeiss site told me there is an update for the lens, I do in fact have 0.3 which I believe is the current firmware for the Sony Zeiss 24-70 f4 OSS.
Still a frustating way of having to update firmware compared to SD card way!!
Hi Ian5986,
Since you're using macOS 10.13, can you make sure that you have the Driver loader 10.13 has been installed before update your software? You can get from this link.
Let us know if this resolved the issue.

Thanks batee5,
I have downloaded the updated driver.
When I registered the lens I got a message saying there is a firmware update but it appears to be the same version already on the lens 0.3 so now not sure what is going on - the lens is working perfectly so may just wait and see what Sony say after contacting them.
Thank you again for your help.
