Android 9 Pie for Xmas?

https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00231372

I wonder if it will address my wish list ...

1. No control over the Light Sensor’s functioning. For me, it is so aggressive as to be useless. I have to disable it and constantly adjust the brightness manually. This is the first TV set I’ve owned that has no user adjustments possible for the ambient light auto control.

2. No screen zoom. I watch a lot of tennis and need to zoom in to allow for bad camera placements and lens selection on some matches.

3. I can’t use my Apple TV box to turn off the TV set by CEC. So, I have to reach for the remote while I have the ATV remote in my hand. Again, all my other TV sets allow this.

Anyone else with great expectations?

Hi @Pat100

No need to get excited, you are looking at an article for Canada, Latin America and United States. It can be up to six months before it arrives in Europe.

Note I suspect you have a setting wrong on either the Apple TV box or your TV. My Apple 4K TV box turns off (and on) the TV using CEC.

That’s interesting, SonyUser30Yrs!

What TV set do you have? Mine’s a KD-55XG9505. Android 8.
I’ve been able to get my ATV4K to turn off previous sets (Samsung and Toshiba) but not this one

There is a Bravia Sync setting to enable the TV to turn off my ATV4K. And one allowing my ATV4K to turn the telly on. They work but there is no setting to allow the set to be turned on by HDMI.
I’d presumed that it was impossible.
