Android TV - Pop-up Advertisements/Spam

I am currently watching the Olympics on FreeView and have recieved the following pop-up on screen:

This is not the first time this has occured, but I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I am also wondering on your view points on how this could occur?

If you own esfile Explorer pro then you can sideload it onto your TV and uninstall the standard esfile Explorer app. Esfile Explorer pro works flawlessly on the TV (it was on sale a few months ago for 10p!). No more popups and a far prettier UI.
