No connection to UK Youview internet channels on KD-55A8 purchased today

Can any advise fixes for the following issues for tv bought today.

 

Model KD-55A8

Software version PKG6.4770.061EUA

Serial number 6500228

 

1) Unable to connect to any internet based channels on UK Youview, screen remains blank. Channel signal strength and quality are 100% and all the internet apps on the tv work ok and  tv shows excellent connection to the internet via a LAN connection to the TV.

 

2)When pressing the remote TV button the Youview page opens and states Guide Preview Unavailable and to search code YVM401, unable to establish what code is? Press OK button and guide opens.

I would start with a soft reset. Hold down the Power button on the TV Remote until you see Power off.

Done a number of soft starts with no difference. Just found that the interactive services on 4Music, behind the red button, aren't working either. There is a problem switching to interactive services from all the interactive / internet based channels.

 

The Youview app is running on tv.

 

Is it a software issue or is a tv setting need changing.

Have you hit an aerial connected  and freeview channels tuned?  Youview is a hybrid service not Internet only

 

Edit sorry just re read and you have full signal strength. 

Try re running Initial setup (skip re tune) and accept all sony and youview terms and Conditions

Did you try Googling YVM104? I did, and I got:-

where you can work through the advice given, adjusting suitably for this being YouView on your TV, not on a YouView box.

 

But @Tonycv51 has probably hit on the right answer. The blanket acceptance option for the T&Cs etc., doesn’t seem to be effective. So when you go back through them as he advises, ensure you respond to each one individually.

Hi,

 

Carried a full factory reset just to be on safe side and accepted all the available options during setup and still no connection to internet / interactive channels on terrestial freeview, unable to receive satellite signal where we are.

 

On 4Music, ch29, there are additional music channels behind the "red button" this service is also not working. Channelbox, ch271, has multiple internet based TV channels and is not opening just blank screen. All the Freeview channels that provide a data message whilst off air are also blank and aren't showing the usual screen messages.

 

All TV internet apps are working perfectly.

 

My previous Sony KD-49X8309C works perfectly on all Freeview internet / Interactive channels. 

 

Any thoughts?

If you turn youview off does the normal freeview guide work?

And are there any freeview engineering works in your area this weekend?

I have tried the tv on the normal built in Sony freeview menu (non Youview menu) and still no connection to the internet channels.

 

All other Tv's in the house work correctly on the Freeview internet channels and give messages on thd data only channels which only transmit at certain times during the day. 

 

Pluto TV and all other TV apps work perfectly.

 

Do I need to raise the issue with Sony Technical directly?

When you do the initial setup ( not a factory reset) did you try accepting all the sony and youview terms and Conditions individually. Has been known to work when youview launched catch up gets stuck
