Sony HT-X8500 sound bar

I have the HT-X8500 sound bar working with a new Sony Bravia 4K LED TV. The Dolby Atmo light does not seem to operate with films that used this system. The instruction manual for the Sound Bar is not very clear - does anyone have any knowledge of how to set my system up so that I get the full surround sound in Dolby atmos?

There is a limitation of Atmos formats supported by TVs without eARC port.
