XF9005 ARC only works for PCM output

Hi, 

I have a XF9005 with sound going to aa Yamaha R-XV681 Receiver via ARC.  The audio system only receives a signal from the tv when the audio output is set to PCM whereas I should be able to get a better sound signal than that.  

Anyone had a similar problem?  Any ideas.

Which sources have you tried? What audio formats have you tried playing on the TV while testing other options than PCM?
