Hi Lynscamera and welcome.

A buffer overflow can happen for many reasons. What usually causes this is when the camera's internal memory is exhausted because it can't transfer data to the hard drive or memory card fast enough.

Common causes are -

  • memory card is too slow for amount of data being transferred
  • overheating
  • high audio levels
  • high altitude
  • .... and lots more.

Please let us know:-

  • What camera model do you have?
  • What type and speed of memory card are you using?
  • Does it happen all ther time?
  • If not, what sort of recording are you doing when it happens?
  • What camera settings and resolution do you have set?
