charged it right out the box go to recharge again several months later and it won't charge via lead in to mains or in to pc tried a different lead still nothing any one with any good ideas???

Hello and welcome. 

The first thing I would suggest would be to try a new battery.  If you have a local camera store nearby they might let you try one instore before you make the purchase

Thanks I will give it a go but on the screen it still shows battery life but the light on the on/off won't light up when I plug it in
