Hi,

You can find the user manual here: https://docs.sony.com/release/DSC-H300_Cyber-shotUserGuide_EN.pdf

While in Intelligent Auto Mode, the camera should put itself in macro mode automatically if/when it recognizes that it's what you want to do (it's called the Scene Recognition function).

For your battery becoming low too quickly, check the below possible reasons:

  • You are using the camera in an extremely cold location.
  • The batteries are dead. Replace them with new ones.
  • When using the Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries (sold separately), charge them sufficiently. If the poles of batteries or the terminals of the camera are dirty, the batteries may not charge properly. Clean the poles and terminals with a cotton swab, etc.
