HT-ZF9 An Atmos soundbar....or is it?
I have a 55" Sony XF Series TV, a Sony UBP X-800 4k player and a Sony HT-ZF9 Soundbar.
Using the ARC function apparently doesn't produce Dolby Atmos sound from 4k discs.
I assume that this is correct, and if so, doesn't it defeat the purpose of Dolby Atmos functionality?
Is someone from Sony goind to address this question?

Hi @Blumine1818
Sorry, this is a customer community so nobody from Sony is going to address this question.
Why don’t you connect things up like I have to use the full facilities of the HT-ZF9 such as Dolby Atmos?
Sky Q 2160p 10 bit -> HT-ZF9/SA-Z9R HDMI1 -> KD-55XE9305 HDMI3 (ARC)
UBP-X800 -> HT-ZF9/SA-Z9R HDMI2 -> KD-55XE9305 HDMI3 (ARC)
If you would like to put your question to Sony please contact Sony UK Support.

Thank you.
I'm now playing an Atmos disc.
The soundbar displays Dolby Atmos-Dolby True HD 48 khz.
The UBP X-800 displays Dolby True HD 7.1 48khz

Hi @Blumine1818 I am just a fellow customer (we all are) and have no comments on your findings.
